TASTE OUR TEAS AT THE HANAMI TEA HOUSE - TEA MENU

 

If you chose any of our black teas or our popular black tea mixtures, We will prepare it for you in a 4 dl Japanese porcelain
pot. Similarly, our caffeine-free teas, including rooibush, honeybush, and lapacho will be served the same way. If you
prefer, we'll be happy to serve your pot with more than one cup so that you can share your pot of tea with your friends.
If you like, ask us for some honey or sugar to go with your tea. Both are free of charge.

We serve our Japanese green teas in our Tokoname kyushu pots, which are 180 ml clay pots fitted with a fine mesh inside to strain your tea. These pots are simple, but elegant, and their size is a perfect fit for our authentic japanese porcelain cups. Japanese teas and some of our other teas call for cooler temperature water, so we will also provide you with a clay water cooling pot, or yuzamashi, as the Japanese call it.

Some might prefer to pursue the art of traditional Chinese tea drinking. If you are one of those people, We have all the tools you will need!

We will prepare your matcha tea at your table, or provide you with all the necessary utensils to prepare it yourself.

 

TEAS FOR CONSUMPTION AT OUR TEAHOUSE

A considerable number of our high quality teas may be steeped more than once. In fact, they will show their true colors and tastes only if you steep them several times, according to the traditional Chinese and Japanese tea making methods. To allow you to do just that, we serve our Japanese teas in pre-heated clay pots, along with the freshly boiled water in a thermos, which we first purify using our reverse osmosis filter. If you use up all the water and you would like to steep your tea some more, let us know, and we will re-fill your thermos. You can also request the Chinese wulong, green, white, red and puerh teas to be served in a gaiwan or yixing pots, with a traditional tea tray. To experience your tea to the fullest, we recommend that you first notice the appearance and the aroma of your tea that is enhanced by the warm clay surrounding it before proceeding with the first steeping. Please let us know if you have any special requests and we will do our best to accommodate you.

In addition to our regular selection of teas, we often have seasonal choices and rarities that may only be available at our teahouse for just a few weeks. We regularly receive small samples directly from Japan, China and our European partners, which we like to share with our interested
customers.
